I DID ON MY SUMMER VACATION:
TEEN SINGING STAR HAYLEY WESTENRA HAS BUSY SUMMER PLANNED
IN US FOR 2004
Teen singing
sensation Hayley Westenra will have to bypass the time-honored
traditions of beach parties, barbecues and movie blockbusters
this summer in lieu of appearances with major world-renown
singers and the cast of a hit TV show. In addition to spreading
the word across the US about her internationally-acclaimed
debut album PURE, here's a quick glance at what the young
star will be doing in summer 2004:
June 3:
Hayley receives the 2004 "favorite up-and-coming artist"
awards at the 12th annual American Society of Young Musicians
spring benefit and concert and awards in Los Angeles at the
House of Blues. Past recipients have included Josh Groban,
Kelly Clarkson, Mandy Moore and Pink
June 7:
UNICEF/Peter Ustinov tribute at UN in NYC: Hayley perform
at this very special tribute event in honor of UNICEF'S longest-running
good will ambassador-She is also an official goodwill ambassador
June 11:
Hayley performs a duet with Jose Carreras at the American
Achievement Awards in Chicago art the Chicago Opera House
June 24:
Hayley will make her US solo concert debut at Joe's Pub in
New York City for an intimate evening of music
July:
Hayley tapes performance for an episode in upcoming season
of the hit NBC show "American Dreams" to air this
Fall
July 28:
Hayley performs at the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra as part
of their Concerts on the Square series
August
4: Hayley returns for another solo concert at Joe's Pub in
New York City
Mid-August:
Hayley returns to her home in New Zealand to tape her first-ever
PBS "Great Performances" concert special to air
in November and December as one of their flagship shows of
the season
August
22: Hayley performs at the NARM convention held this year
in San Diego - annual gathering of key entertainment retailers
and manufactures who convene from all over the U.S.
